PK,.Yapen-Papua,First Sergeant Rustam Daud, one of Indonesian army who has tasked as territorial army at Koramil 1709-01/ South Yapen, get the honor from the school authorities as the inspector of the flag ceremony on Monday (21/01/2019). This event is also attended by ex headmaster of YPK Betania, Sir Lukas Wayangkau.
In this good opportunity, as the inspector of the ceremony, 1st Sergeant Rustam read the written-speech of the 1709/ Yawa Military District Commander (Dandim) Lieutenant Colonel Arh Pulung Patria Daga. This speech especially addressed to students and teachers in district Yapen-Waropen archipelago which is the territory of 1709/Yawa Military District.
At first point of his written-speech, Lt Col Pulung says that the Indonesian territorial army will keep the flag ceremony as routine agenda of local schools. Th ceremony is not only to develop the nationalism for students and teachers, but also to raise the good cooperation between army institution and educational community.
Secondly , through the flag ceremony, the students will remind the struggle of our national heroes. We will not forget that they already died in a war to get Indonesia’s independence against colonial.
Another point is, with this flag ceremony we are also trained to be discipline. Discipline is a main asset for anyone to reach success in the future. In simple way, this attitude could be performed in time-discipline, dressed neatly, respect others, and also show the loyalty to the country, Indonesia.
Further, the military district commander sent the advice for the students to obey all the instructions given by the teachers.”Give the best that you can do for your religion, and also the country where we stay and live, Indonesia” said Lt Col Pulung in his written-speech.
At the end of the speech, he said: “To all the teachers, we wish you the best in practising your honourable service to raise the students as a future generation. The students shall be better than the generation before. Keep your spirit up, though teachers are known as “heroes with no medals”. Hopefully God always bless us in giving the best dedication for our nation.”
